GuideApp ("we", "us", "our") operates the GuideApp web platform and the GuideApp Mobile application (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
• Tour data: Tour schedules, reservations, attendance records, payment information, and comments entered by guides during tours.
• Location data: When you enable the "Find My Guide" feature, we collect your real-time GPS location during active tours so participants can locate you. Location tracking only occurs during a defined tracking window around your tour time and can be disabled at any time.
• Photos: Images you upload as tour stories are stored on our servers.
• Device information: Device type, operating system, and app version for technical support and compatibility.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the Service.
• To enable tour coordination between guides, administrators, and participants.
• To share your live location with tour participants when you activate the Find My Guide feature.
• To generate statistics and analytics about your tour activity.
• To send you operational notifications related to your tours.

4. Location Data

Location data is only collected when the Find My Guide feature is active. Tracking starts automatically up to 5 minutes before a scheduled tour and stops automatically after the tour window ends. You can manually stop tracking at any time from the app settings. Location data is stored temporarily and is deleted after 24 hours. We do not sell or share location data with third parties.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information. Tour data is cached locally on your device for offline access and synced when connectivity is restored.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Tour administrators: Your tour activity, attendance records, and payment data are visible to your organization's administrators.
• Tour participants: Your live location is shared only when Find My Guide is active during a tour.
• Service providers: We use Supabase for authentication and data storage. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. Tour data is retained for operational and reporting purposes. Location data from Find My Guide is deleted within 24 hours after the tour ends. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and data.
• Disable location tracking at any time through the app settings.
• Withdraw consent for data processing.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
